I’ve been tinkering, troubleshooting and finding solutions to problems as long as I can remember. Left-handed, curiousity in the eye and a handful of second hand computer parts as a child I guess did it. Technology, creativity and a fair amount of personal drive has molded into my career and life today I suppose.

Web Dev

I love web development, design and coding alike; Its like poetry. I spent the majority of my days creating websites for those who want clean, usable designs with my business, Marston Innovation. I guess I’m not the only one in the world who thinks there are way too many unusable, over-flashy and unintuitive websites on the internet today. So I guess thats why were in business? Its great and also to work with other bright individuals at times as well. We focus on clean design, usable navigaton and content centric layouts. Mainly hand coded in CSS/XHTML, though very cool things are happening with technologies such as Ruby on Rails and AjAX. I strive to conform with W3C Web standards.

To learn more about what web standards are and how they are important to you and the internet feel free to read my article here.

Network Tech

I love network engineering just as much, I’m glad I get to work just as much with it in the ISP functions of my business. My specialty is in Network Engineering, Network Security, WiFi Engineering and Multi-OS Administration. Setting up networks, running CAT-5, recompiling kernals and applying security patches is what I do for fun. There is nothing like configuring a server from scratch and hand-customizing all the hardware and software aspects. I get the most of my kicks from *NIX OS’s like Linux, BSD, Mac OS X and Windows.

In my tech interests my working preferences are:

  • Mac OS X
  • BSD, Linux, Unix
  • Windows

  • BBEdit
  • Macromedia Dreamweaver
  • Macromedia Fireworks
  • Macromedia Flash
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Photoshop
